Default For Starters

Before you start to complain to a company or about a product make very sure that you know exactly what you want to say.

Remember all companies are not bad and mistakes are made.
Responsible companies want a good relationship with their customers but people are human and mistakes are made.

Before you do anything...Stay Calm and before talking to anyone check all paperwork. Receipts and the like. Boring and time consuming but vital.
Paperwork is Very Important.

Before talking to anyone take a large peice of paper and Time and Date it.
Whenever you speak to anyone ask their names and add the time and date.

Before phoning anyone Think very hard about who you want to speak To and Exactly what you want to say.

In this day and age where press one press two option seventy nine option thirty one and all that exists it is very easy to get put through to the wrong person. We all know that finding the correct person to complain to does make life so much easier. We have all chosen option one then option seven then explained our problem only to find ourselves being transferred to someone else...often the wrong person because that person had no idea who you should be talking to and passes you on to someone equally useless.

(I always thought they did this on purpose until one day it was explained to me the vaste amount of calls that are received everyday and how compartmentalised these departments are).

If in doubt ask for the Managing Directors Secretary...they nearly always take calls and they usually know who you should be talking to and generally are most helpful. Nothing like starting at the top.

When you have got through to the correct person explain Calmly the problem you are having...expect to wait while they read their computer screens remember they are human to....If you cannot understand them ask politely for their Supervisor or to speak to someone else and dont forget to write down his or hers name or number.

Dont scream at them if they are having difficulty understanding the problem but dont be pushed off by some explanation that you know is not correct...firmly state your case and stick to your guns.

If that avenue fails dont slam the phone down just calmly work out your next move.
Someone somewhere has had this problem before and solved it. I know its costing you time and money but stay as calm as you can...Its not a life threatening illness its a minor bump in the road of life .Grin.

Check Citizens Advice Bureau for your rights they have seen and heard most problems also the Regulatory Bodies.
Check this website and others like it.
Someone somewhere will know how to solve your problem.

Remember you have Rights...make sure you know what they are.
