Well you are not going to believe this.....I am changing from Aol who have been giving a very poor service since being bought out by Car Phone W...to....BT!!

I know all that has been said but I had very little choice because where I live thats all there is.!! I wanted to use Sky (but when you get down to it they use BT in my area ), there is no cable....so we will see how BT behave.

So far, to give credit where credit is due, they have been excellent at telling me when they are going to connect up etc etc. but then taking your money has never been one of their problems... .but I will try to be fair and start with a clean slate.

Minnie was great. Lets hope she returns soon.

There is a sign saying the site is being worked on and I think Rob (owner) said he was having a new one made ??

Did you read about the cigars on the internet? Its meant to be true and could only happen in America...this is an abreviated version...

A man (a barrister) bought 24 cigars and phoned an insurance company and asked if they would insure them. They said certainly and gave him a price. He wrote and said am I insured against fire? Yes they said. He paid for his policy then he and his friend (another barrister) smoked them and put in a claim.
"Thats absurd "said the insurance company. The barrister sued them and Won.
The insurance company then sued the barrister...24 charges of Arson....and he Won.
So far the insurance company is ahead....Arent they always !!!

My bees are still buzzing away but confine themselves to the garden now
and the council have given me the name of someone they use...there is a fee!! He apparently will entice the queen away.....

Lets hope that BT don't give you the same grief your friend got. I may be staying with Virgin Media, as they've got an offer which allows me everything I've got now, for a lower monthly fee. But I'm just worried that if my internet packs up, I'll be stuck, as I mentioned how impossible their support team is to get hold of. At least my recent internet problem wasn't actually their side of the fence anyway, it was my internet explorer clashing with another version.

I haven't heard about that cigar business on the internet, but it sounds like one of the bizarre things which can happen in America. I even heard once, a long time ago, that there was an insurance company over there where you can have a policy against being abducted by a UFO!

That sounds too far-fetched, but then I suppose its a way for the company to make money from nut-jobs who seriously believe that might happen to them. Well good luck to them for making a claim, but I can't see them getting a payout without suffiecient proof of an abduction! Lol

But I'm not going to mock Americans, most of them are probably quite normal, rational people. I've been over there four times myself, and they're mostly okay.

So how is your bee problem? I have a mouse which pops up in my flat from time to time, only I haven't seen it for ages. It kept me up one night a few months, ago, I tried to catch it, but I didn't stand a chance, it was just too quick, and there were plenty of places for it to hide, as well.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. The weather is nice here, as well, so I might go to the park later.

Hi Everybody (especially you Fraught),

Well my BT package arrived, (on time) and I was up and running in about ten minutes. About 8 hours earlier than they said...so

WELL DONE BT .....(when you get it right you do a good job but when you mess up you should go the extra inch and put things right.)

My friend struggled along until late today when he phoned to say "I have my Business Broadband up again "! "but werent you changing over"? "Wasnt that when the trouble started?"
{I think they have made him be grateful for anything that connects to the internet }!!
He will post up his account of BTas soon as he is satisfied that his connection is secure (so with his bad luck it may be a while) and BT have a chance to explain .

Aol havent cut me off yet...I can still access my account. Yes,I have told them I dont want it anymore and they have given me my closure number etc. and after 12 years I have moved on. I do hope they dont charge me for extra time after I have moved on.
They also sent me the Agreement and Terms etc....I cannot say anymore about it right now because I need to run it by a legal mind first. .... but I will later.
My personal conclusion on reading it was, that we dont have any Privacy seems a non event to.

Mice Fraught? What happened to rodent control? It comes free from the council. A cat maybe (just for the week?).

Well today was a walk in the park for me BT wise...do hope it stays that way.

That's good news, Anne, only hope you have some good luck with them.

As for mice, I'd just contact my landlord if I had any more trouble, but I'm on the verge of moving anyway, so its not much of a worry. I'll still inform him that I saw a mouse once, anyway, before I go.
